Dark Nova (EP) is the second chapter of the Spider Island saga. The first official lineup of the band played a show on June 15. 2012 at their local skatepark in Orange County, California. Donkus Jones (birth name Jakob Head) joined the band as a second guitarist adding a lot to the group's heavy sound. John Sahm, drummer, was also a new member. The group decided it was time to record an EP at a friend's home studio for only $50. Recording began on August 30, 2012 at producer Thorin Murphy-Fahlgren's home studio in San Clemente. The EP is a raw representation of the group's live sound as it was recorded with no click tracks.

Spider Island is a rock band from California formed in early 2011, originally as a trio. They released their first official EP, Dark Nova, one year later and played many local shows.

By the end of 2013 Spider Island, now a five-piece, completed their first LP, Morals of a Dead Wave. The long awaited full length album was released on June 3rd, 2014 on Glowtooth Records. ... more
